In the early part of the nineteenth century one woman changed our knowledge and perception of the Earth when Dinosaurs roamed it’s surface. This woman was Mary Anning a palaeontologist and fossil hunter who made some remarkable discoveries on the Dorset coast. She found the remains of enormous marine creatures including being the first person to find a complete Ichthyosaur skeleton. Despite these incredible discoveries she was not recognised by the scientific community during her lifetime. Instead it was the men who purchased the fossils from Mary who received the credit. Today these same fossils are displayed at the Natural History Museum under her name. Learn about the life of this remarkable woman and her discoveries which changed Science forever.
