Henry Vlll is crowned King

This week in the Past I have chosen two important events which have shaped our world. These involve two characters which Blast From the Past portrays; Queen Victoria and Henry Vlll.

June 24th 1509

At 8.00am on the 24th June Henry Vlll and his wife Catherine followed a procession of 28 Bishops from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey where he was crowned King. His 38 year reign would be one of the most eventful and bloody in the History of all English Monarchs. For more information go to the Anne Boleyn Files.

Queen Victoria becomes Queen on the death of her father June 20th 1837

On June 20th 1837 after a reign of only seven years William lV dies leaving Victoria to become queen. She would reign for 64 years
